Jocelyn Fraser

Jocelyn
Fraser works primarily in the areas of community relations and issues
management for resource sector clients. Her experience in these
fields includes developing communications strategies for pipeline
and mine sitings, a generating facility upgrade and the construction
of a container terminal.
Jocelyn also has a significant base of experience in crisis planning and response and personally served as an associate of the international public affairs firm Hill and Knowlton where she co-chaired the company’s Canadian crisis practice. She has provided counsel on several oil spills and in February 1999 she worked as a member of the Unified Command Team responding to the grounding of a bulk carrier which began leaking oil into the ecologically sensitive waters off the Oregon coast.
She
has also conducted crisis and media training for members of corporate
crisis management teams, and senior executives in both the public
and private sector and has participated in large-scale crisis simulations
for companies involved in mining and oil shipping and transportation.
Jocelyn's
previous experience includes working with two international public
affairs firms in Vancouver, where her responsibilities included
strategic planning, media relations and issues management. In addition,
she has worked on a variety of projects including a number of major
conferences and public events. While in Edmonton, she was a member
of the organizing committee of the 1983 World University Games,
managed a conference for a United Nations committee, and directed
the planning and activities for an international conference of Northern mayors.
Ms.
Fraser holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (English/History) from the
University of Alberta. She did graduate work at the University of
Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand and speaks French.
