Jean-Paul established Brasseur & Associates in early 1998 after more than 20 years as a senior executive with three of Canada's foremost international communications firms.

As a bilingual senior consultant, he has worked with a wide variety of local, national and international clients, both in the public and private sectors. He has played leading roles in public relations, marketing communications and community relations projects for clients such as Domtar, The Conference Board of Canada, Giant Tiger Stores, Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation, Justice Canada, Health Canada, Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions, Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, Canadian Fertilizer Institute, Canadian Consumer Specialty Products Association, Automotive Industries Association of Canada and Gulfstream Aerospace.

Although comfortable operating at the strategic level, Jean-Paul has had ample hands-on experience in executing high-profile special events and in developing a wide variety of communication tools. He is adept at helping clients to prepare for communication opportunities and to select the most effective and efficient methods to engage their target audiences.

Jean-Paul is an accredited member (APR) of the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS). He has served in several capacities on the Board of Directors of CPRS (Ottawa) and as Chairman of the Ottawa chapter of the CPRS Consultants' Institute. He was also a member of the program committee for the 2000 CPRS National Conference, for which he organized and moderated a panel session entitled "Spinning in the Media Market Place."

He is a graduate of Carleton University, Ottawa, where he earned an Honours Bachelor of Journalism degree.
